Funding Guidelines

Naperville Township 708 Mental Health Board is pleased to offer funding for fiscal year 2025. The purpose of the Board is to aid individuals in the enhancement, maintenance, and/or restoration of their health within the context of their environment.

AWARD DETAILS

The Naperville Township 708 Mental Health Board has $800,000 in funding available to be awarded based on the quality of the grant submissions. The average grant is estimated to be in the $25,000 range. Maximum grant funds are $150,000 per grant (no more than 3 awarded). Organizations may submit multiple grant applications. Grant awarded at over $25,000 are paid out on a semi-annually basis with required semi-annual reporting. All other grants are funded at the beginning of the grant cycle.

GRANT CYCLE

The Grant Application starts on December 2, 2024 and they are due by January 31, 2025. Award decisions will be announced in mid March of 2025. The first round of funding will be made available by March 31, 2025.

SCOPE OF FUNDING

The scope of funding will cover the following areas per 405 ILCS 20 Statute:

  • Mental Illness (prevention and treatment)
  • Service for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities
  • Substance Use, Prevention, Treatment or Recovery

WHAT WE FUND?

PLEASE NOTE: 100% of the funds must be used to serve Naperville Township Residents. Applicants will be required to document the means by which township residency is confirmed. The NTMHB grant funds: general operating, programs, capital projects (one time projects) and special projects within the scope that serve Naperville Township residents.

Funded services may include, but are not limited to:

  • Community Outreach
  • Prevention and Education Programs
  • Crisis Intervention
  • Individual, group, family counseling and therapeutic interventions
  • Case Management and Care Coordination
  • Trauma-focused services
  • Linkage to psychiatric services
  • Medication and Medication Management
  • Substance abuse treatment
  • Aftercare services

RESTRICTIONS

The following organizations may not apply:

  • Political Organizations
  • Individuals
  • Organizations for religious activities (Secular activities provided by religious organizations may be eligible for grant funds.)
  • Endowments
  • Private foundations and private operating foundations
  • Historical societies and foundations for projects that do not have a broad reach beyond a specific community
  • Hospitals, including supporting foundations

REQUIREMENTS

  • The funds must be used for at least one of the following serving Naperville Township residents:
    • Mental health prevention
    • Enhancement and/or treatment of persons with mental illness
    • Enhancement and/or treatment of persons with developmental disabilities
    • Enhancement and/or treatment of persons with addiction problems
  • Must have an operating history of one fiscal year
  • The funds must be spent during the funding period

Please note that 100% of the available funds must be used to serve Naperville Township Residents. Applicants will be required to document the means by which township residency is confirmed.
